Extraordinary Results September Newsletter 2005 - Tips for Organizing Your Home Office

>> Personal Note

We were thrilled to attend our daughter, Emily Beth Sae Rom’s graduation in August from the University of Nebraska. We are so proud of her accomplishment. It was a wonderful day with family and friends sharing in the excitement. She earned her degree in Advertising and is now looking for a fantastic job in public relations or event planning.

I just returned from Valencia, CA where I spent three days taping the CD’s for my new product and designing the workbook. Valencia is absolutely beautiful and I loved the warm weather! It has been my goal for a long time to have my own product to share and I am so excited because this product is going to help so many get organized and gain control over their home, life, and time. I will also teach how to use my START™ Method to get you started which is the real hang up with so many people.

I worked with James Roche (www.infoproductguy.com) on my product while I was in CA. We decided to work on the workbook in a coffee shop for a different atmosphere. While we were there I thought it would be so nice to get a picture of us and wished I had brought my camera from the hotel room. I asked the clerk if there was a place near by to purchase a camera and he said it would be quite a drive and the coffee shop did not have a camera. I had not sat down for 5 minutes and a young man came in and after he had set up his laptop and gotten his coffee he pulled out a digital camera! He started to take photos of some of his friends in the coffee shop. I turned to James and expressed my amazement! James said he knew the young man and asked if he would take a picture of us. James then popped the photo card into his laptop and voila! I had my picture! This is a very simple example of the Law of Attraction in action!

I really believe in the principle that Michael Losier says in his book “Law of Attraction” - “I attract to my life whatever I give my energy, focus, and attention to, whether wanted or unwanted.”

What are you attracting to your life? Is your life all you’d like it to be? There is a lot written on this topic but a great place to find out more is www.lawofattractionbook.com. I’d love to hear what great things start happening in your life when you eliminate the unwanted from your life and start filling it up with things that give you joy!

I feel so blessed that after my faith and my family what really gives me joy is helping others to take action and make changes in their life so they can experience extraordinary results. And that’s what I get to do everyday!

>> Feature Article - Tips For Organizing Your Home Office

  1. Be sure that everyone in your household understands how the space in your home office is to be used.
  2. Pick a location that is favorable for conducting business. If possible, keep this area separate from your personal living space.
  3. Pick comfortable furnishings and sufficient lighting that will reduce fatigue, discomfort, strain and injury.
  4. Obtain stacking trays that are labeled for the following uses and put them in easy reach of where you sit:
    a. Incoming – put the mail here until you open it.
    b. Outgoing – for outgoing mail.
    c. To file – for papers you want to file for future reference if they don’t require any action at this time.
  5. Use the 5 Decision Process for dealing with paper, e-mail, voice mail, verbal requests, and things you think of: Toss, Delegate, Act, File for Follow-Up or Reference File and remember - 80% of what we receive we can toss.
  6. Put a wastebasket near where you open your mail. This makes it easy to immediately toss what you don’t need to keep for action or reference.
  7. Create a Tickler File System and place all of your “action required” items in the system according to when you plan to act on it.
  8. Create a system for easy retrieval of electronic files and for filing papers so you can find anything in 5 seconds or less.
  9. Create archive files for papers you are legally required to keep or for files you rarely need to retrieve.
  10. Use wall space for cabinets and shelving. You can store books, notebooks, magazines, and office supplies here.
