When I ask people how their summer was the reply is usually - "What summer?" Has it gone that fast for you, too? I do hope that you had time to relax and enjoy your family and friends. We spent a week at a lake in July which was very nice. In August we attended our son's graduation from Baylor University in Texas. We are very proud of him. One down - four to go!
Fall is a beautiful time of year and a time when we start getting used to routines again. Some ideas for September:
- Organize your closet, store summer clothes and get fall clothes ready.
- Clean out the medicine cabinet. Safely toss expired drugs and stock up on cold and fever remedies.
- Shop for bargain holiday airfares.
- Set up a central filing system for school papers.
- Update emergency contact list.
- Cook once and eat for a month! See link below.
If you have a friend who would like getting monthly organizing tips, please forward this newsletter. If you'd like to unsubscribe, follow the instructions at the end of the newsletter.

I LOVE whiteboards! They're easy to use and fun!
- Hang a whiteboard by the telephone. Have different colored markers for each family member. Makes taking messages really easy!
- Put a whiteboard in the garage to list outside and garden to-do lists.
- Have one on the inside of the back door for reminders of what to take to school, errands, etc.
- In kid's rooms they can keep track of chores and things they want to do.
- Mount a magnet whiteboard on the freezer to keep track of contents.
- Have one at your office for reminders for yourself and messages for other associates.

- To avoid clutter in the backpack use zippered cases or file folders to carry items.
- Establish a Homework Zone. Have all the supplies your student needs in a basket such as paper, pens, colored pencils, rulers, etc. Of course, no TV!
- Have a designated place for your child to put papers that you need to sign or look at.
*Go through all winter coats, hats, and gloves now and be ready when the first snow falls.
- Prepare for the next day the night before. Does a lunch need to be made? Papers signed? Backpack ready to go?
- Do you have a child that has trouble staying focused while doing homework? Use a timer and set it to go off at 20-30 minute intervals and they can then take a 10 minute break.

Are you using your Palm or Pocket PC for a paperweight?!! Is it still in the box? If you're like most people it's much easier to learn by doing than reading a manual.
I will come to your home or office and teach you to use this powerful organizing tool. I'll show you how to input appointments, to-do's, contacts and memos. You will learn important commands, shortcuts, and preference settings.

| Start Taming the Paper Tiger! |
If you're having trouble managing your desk, you're not alone! Research shows the average person:
*Wastes 150 hours/year looking for misplaced information
*Has 37 hours of unfinished work on his/her desk at any one time
*Uses less than 20% of what they keep
With the Paper Tiger software you can find anything you file or store in 5 seconds or less. This software is a great tool to finally give you a 'finding' (instead of filing) system that works for you. Also works well for organizing videos, books, collections, etc. It is designed to help you be more effective.
The software is easy to learn and easy to use. The product can be learned in less than one hour. The Paper Tiger is a complete kit including the software, multimedia tutorial, pre-printed labels and Online User's Guide - everything you need to solve your paper problems once and for all!
Call or email me today and start fresh this fall with a clean desk and more importantly - an uncluttered mind! You really can know where everything is!
