Extraordinary Results November Newsletter 2005
Planning Your Day

>> Personal Note

During the month of November my thoughts turn to all that I have to be thankful for. I have an awesome family and a business in which I love everything that I do. I get to see miracles happen every time I work with a client and speak to an organization. It's so true that when we eliminate the clutter from our life we open ourselves up to wonderful new experiences and our confidence just soars!

I'm also thankful for all the wonderful people that have helped make my business a success. One of these is Kendall Summerhawk, my marketing coach. I just spent 3 fantastic days in Tucson, AZ at Kendall's Brilliance Unbridled Marketing Retreat. I stayed at the Casa-Luna Bed & Breakfast where I was treated like a queen! Wonderful homemade meals served on china, beautiful suites, and of course - a fabulous view of the mountains.

Part of the workshop included working with Kendall's horses to help us learn about focus and passion for our business. Since I am definitely not a horse person this was out of my comfort zone but I was amazed at how much I learned.

I know that I am committed to helping women feel extraordinary. I am so excited about some of the new ideas that I’m going to be implementing to help you feel confident in every area of your life. If you want to start now go to www.organizeyourlifetoday.com and I can be right in your own home or office helping you get organized today!

>> Feature Article - Planning Your Day

Do you ever wonder at the end of the day - "Just exactly what did I do today?" This is a common thought for many people. I often hear people comment "There are just not enough hours in the day." If we don't plan our day the time can just fly be and we don't get done what we need to accomplish.

It's important to realize that there are 24 hours in a day and that this is not going to change any time soon! There is enough time in the day but we are not doing what's important. We're busy but not getting anything done. Figure out what you are really, really good at and what you do best. Do those things and either get rid of the other items or delegate to someone else.

Another way to find more time is to cut out activities that are not that important. Make a list of all you are involved in and rate the activities 1 to 4 with 1 being vital to your life and 4 being least important. Now get rid of all the 4's and maybe even the 3's!

I use a Daily Checklist to keep me on track for each day. It has a place for my to-do's, to call, errands, and the all important 'what's for dinner'. This is just one of the many extraordinary forms you receive in the "Organize Your Life Today!" CD-set and workbook.

As my thanks to you for being a wonderful subscriber I'd like to give you this form as a gift.  Just enter your name and email address here and you will receive the form absolutely free! (NO CREDIT CARD INFORMATION IS REQUIRED.  Since I normally sell this form as one of my products, you will receive it through my online shopping cart. But as my complimentary gift to you, only your name, address and email address are required.  I promise - no strings attached!)

The only way to have more time is to utilize our time more efficiently. Always think - "What is the best use of my time right now?" and then focus on that task. You'll be amazed at all that you'll accomplish AND you’ll start having time for yourself!

>> Quick Tip

Discover the power of 3 x 5 cards! I use index cards for a multiple of uses. When I want to break a goal down into steps I put each step of the goal on an index card. I then put the cards in order of how I will achieve the goal.

The same principle works for a project. Make each card a step of the project and give the cards to the different people involved in the project.

>> Computer Tip - Remember Shortcut Keys

You may know about keyboard shortcut keys in Word 2003, the special keystrokes that let you perform operations without having to click on toolbar buttons or menu items. For example:

CONTROL-S: Save the current document
CONTROL-P: Print the current document
CONTROL-B: Toggle Bold text
CONTROL-I: Toggle Italic text

How can you remember all of these? Here is a way you can have Microsoft Word 2003 show you the shortcut keys for any given toolbar button (if they exist):

  1. Choose "Tools", then "Customize".
  2. When the "Customize" multi-tabbed dialog box appears, choose "Options".
  3. Check "Show shortcut keys in Screentips".
  4. Press "Close".

Now, if you move your mouse over the Spelling and Grammar toolbar button (it looks like the letters "ABC" over a checkmark), Word tells you that you can press F7 to activate this feature. Experiment by moving your mouse over other toolbar buttons to see the shortcuts for that feature.
