Micah picking the survey winner |
Thank you, thank you to all who participated in my “Name My Product”
survey. Also, thank you to those who wrote me that they didn’t
really like any of the titles and gave me suggestions. I have the
most wonderful people who subscribe to my newsletter!
All of those who answered the survey had a chance to win the product
and congratulations to the winner of the complete Organize Your Life
Today! Workbook and CD set - Aubrey Gilbert of Sioux Falls, SD. When
I contacted her and told her that she won she said
"I am so excited to win the workbook and 4-CD set! I consider
myself a fairly organized person, but there is always room for
improvement. I feel that organization brings peace to people's
lives." You are so right, Aubrey!
After much thought and soul searching (this title thing was much
harder than I thought!) I combined some of the title ideas along
with suggestions AND…drum roll… here is the product title:
I am so excited after all the time and work of writing and taping to
present to you Organize Your Life Today!

I found out that from your responses to my first survey that the feeling
of being overwhelmed and not knowing where to start was what kept most
of you from getting organized. These are exactly the issues this product
faces head on.
- With the “Organize Your Life Today Workbook” I will be there every
step of the way telling you where to start and what to do to organize
your life.
- In the 1st CD “Organize Your Life Today: The START™ Method” you will
find out exactly how to get started and start achieving your organizing
goals using the
7 Steps to Stop Feeling Overwhelmed process.
- In the 2nd CD “Organize Your Office and Paper Pile-Up Today” you’ll
discover how to finally clear all those papers off your desk.
- In the 3rd CD “Organize Your Kitchen and Closet Today” you will
learn methods to start saving time in the kitchen and really get your
closet organized.
- With the Bonus CD “Extraordinary Forms “ you will get all the forms
and worksheets to easily print everything you need off your own
computer.
Sound good? I think so! You no longer have to feel alone as you face the
clutter and stress in your home and office. We can do this together.

receive this complete guide to changing your life.
Fall is a great time of year to think about clearing up space in your life
(physical and mental).
Some ideas:
- Clean out your e-mail inbox.
- Go through your clothes closet and clear out the summer and get
ready for fall. Don’t put anything back in your closet that you don’t
love and doesn’t fit. Yes, doesn’t fit. You can bin up those clothes for
later if you like, but they don’t belong in your closet. Give clothes
away—you’ll feel great and someone else will really thank you.
- The makeup drawer. Trust me – you probably only use 10% of all
that’s there.
- Pick a spot in your home where you can curl up and read a good book.
Get rid of anything in the spot that causes stress and have this be your
‘place’.
- The glasses cupboard in your kitchen. How many do you really use?
- Hall closet. Give away the coats you don’t use any more and bring to
the cleaners the ones you like.
- Craft area. Do you really have time to finish those uncompleted
projects?
- Shoes? Enough said!
You get the idea! Make a list of 5 areas in your home that you need to clean
out, pick one, and start tomorrow!
Here is a simple truth: everything we have in our life either nourishes us
or drains us. It either supports our dreams and desires or sabotages them.
If too much clutter in your immediate environment is draining you, you are
caught in the clutter trap and it’s time to do something about it.
This tip came from one of my subscribers (and my
son’s teacher!) who uses The
Tickler File
System:
"I was reading one of your articles and it
reminded me of something I use with my Tickler File System. I wrote out
the birthdays and anniversaries of each month that I don't want to miss,
put this in my month file, and pull it out at the beginning of the
month. Each Sunday I sit down and write the cards for that week then
file the list on the next Sunday's date and do it again. At the end of
the month the list goes back into the month's file for next year (I
update as I go if there are birthdays to add). Writing the cards is also
a great Sabbath day activity - calming, loving, uplifting.
Google
(www.google.com) seems so simple - enter your keyword and click
search. It works great, and millions of people do it millions of times
each day. But there is more to Google than meets the eye.
Google has many other useful functions, one of which is the capability
of doing advanced searches. Google’s advanced search lets you search
with more precision. Click on “Advanced Search” to the right of the
keyword entry field on the home page to see the extra search
capabilities Google offers.
One of the handiest tools Google provides is simply the ability to
search in different ways with the keywords you’ve entered. You can do
this by going to the advanced search page, or by using some shortcuts
when entering your keywords on the Google home page.
Let’s say you want to search for some business success stories and would
like to use the shortcuts rather than going to the advanced search page.
Here are some of the results you will get using these shortcuts on the
Google home page.
|
What You Type |
What You Get |
|
business success stories |
Any page that has all three keywords in it. |
|
“business success stories” |
All pages with the whole phrase business success stories in
it. |
|
business OR success OR stories |
Any page with any of these words will be in your results. This makes
for a mighty big list. Proceed with caution. |
|
-business -success -stories |
This will return pages without any of the three words on them. ** |
** The minus sign is best used when searching for
something specific while trying to weed out a few options. Let’s say you
want to find business success stories, but aren’t interested in ones from
the pork belly industry. You might try entering “business success
stories” – pork – bellies.
You’ve probably discovered that even if you know these shortcuts, internet
research can take a long time. There’s just so much information out there,
and the sources of the information aren’t always respectable.
